DR VEDASHREE PANTHULU M.D.
Dr. Panthulu (Dr P) has been serving the Sun City Center Community since August 2017. She founded Sunshine Rheumatology in 2018. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.
She chose rheumatology because it is intellectually challenging and exciting. Recent advances in the treatment options including those on the horizon adds enormous gratification in her patient care. She strives towards improving the quality of life for her patients.
She returned to Florida after completing her rheumatology fellowship at University of Connecticut. She also has three years of experience working as a Hospitalist managing acutely ill patients at Florida Hospital - Heartland Division. She completed her Internal medicine residency from Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY and she got her medical degree from Topiwala National Medical College, Mumbai, India where she is originally from. In addition to English, she can speak Hindi, Marathi, and Telugu.
While not at work, she enjoys her time being with her family which includes 3 beautiful daughters. She also loves beaches, outdoor activities and has a passion for photography.
Dr Panthulu will be seeing patients in the Sun City Center and Brandon Offices.
DR DIANA ZULETA D.O.
Dr Zuleta joined our Sunshine family in Oct 2020. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. Born in Colombia and raised in Central Florida, she received her medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton and completed both her Internal Medicine residency and Rheumatology fellowship at Larkin Hospital, South Miami, FL. She became interested in Rheumatology after she was inspired by her father’s diagnosis with a debilitating autoimmune vasculitis. She is compassionate towards her patients and understands how devastating arthritis and autoimmune conditions can be.
She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She realized that she was destined to pursue the field of rheumatology as she enjoyed being exposed to the variety and intricacy of diseases, procedures, and exciting medications that can help relieve suffering for those affected by these conditions. During her rheumatology training, she served as Chief Rheumatology Fellow and was actively involved in clinical studies.
During her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and dogs, traveling, volunteering, exploring new foods and playing the violin.
Dr Zuleta will be seeing patients in the Brandon and Sun City Center Offices.
DR PATRICIA JORDAN-GONZALEZ M.D.
Dr Jordan-Gonzalez joined our Sunshine family in September 2021. Dr. Jordan-Gonzalez was born in Puerto Rico, majored in Biological Sciences and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System and her fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus. Dr. Jordan-Gonzalez is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. She has authored articles in rheumatology journals and presented at the Pan-American League of Associations of Rheumatology (PANLAR).
Dr. Jordan-Gonzalez firmly believes in individualized patient care and practices a holistic approach to patient care focusing on a positive physician-patient relationship as part of a successful treatment plan. She is fluent in both English and Spanish. Her personal interests are Systemic lupus erythematosus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sjögren’s Syndrome and Psoriatic Arthritis. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, traveling, beaches and fitness.
Dr Jordan-Gonzalez will be seeing patients in the Brandon and Tampa Offices.
DR EDGARDO J. GUZMAN RIVERA M.D.
Dr. Guzman joined our Sunshine family in November 2022. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. He was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico where he majored in General Sciences and graduated Magna Cum Laude at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Puerto Rico. He completed his medical degree at Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra and graduated Cum Laude. He then moved to New York to complete his Internal Medicine residency at NYC Health + Hospital Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in affiliation with Weill Cornell Medical College in the Bronx and his Rheumatology Fellowship at Stony Brook University Hospital in Long Island. Dr. Guzman has several publications in rheumatology and immunology journals. He is bilingual in English and Spanish. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, watching movies or documentaries and various motorsports. Dr. Guzman will be seeing patients in the Brandon and Tampa Offices.
DR KATHLEEN FITZGERALD M.D.
Dr. Kathleen Fitzgerald will join our Sunshine family in May 2023. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.
She was born and raised in the Philippines and moved to the United States to pursue her medical residency and career. She completed her internal medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic Akron General in Ohio and then went on to complete both Geriatric Medicine and Rheumatology fellowships at the University of Illinois Chicago, where she honed her expertise in the care of older adults and patients with rheumatic diseases. After completing her training, Dr. Fitzgerald worked as a rheumatologist in the Pacific Northwest for 3.5 years before relocating to Florida.
Fluent in Tagalog and English, Dr. Fitzgerald is committed to providing the highest quality care to her patients and ensuring they fully understand their medical conditions and treatment options.
When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Fitzgerald enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and their dog, hiking, and going to the beach. She also has a passion for the arts and can often be found painting or listening to jazz and bossa nova music in her free time.
She will be seeing patients in our Lakewood Ranch and Sun City Center Offices. We are excited to serve more patients in Lakewood Ranch/Bradenton area.
JULIE SHAJU APRN
Julie has worked as a Registered Nurse and Team Leader at Brandon Regional Hospital since 2006. She graduated as a Family Nurse Practitioner from South University, Tampa in 2017. After working as a Nurse Practitioner in various clinical settings she became interested in Rheumatology as she started serving patients with chronic illnesses and realized that she could make a difference by providing compassionate care. She joined Sunshine Rheumatology in January 2021. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Calicut medical College, Kerala, India. During her free time, she enjoys traveling with family, watching movies, engaging in social and cultural activities of church and has a passion for dance and music.
